This digital file has been carefully crafted to provide step by step instructions to make you own homemade drum carder for $40. With basic woodworking skills and a few power tools you can make this drum carder yourself.

The CALET MINI DRUM CARDER PLANS includes everything you need to make your very own drum carder as pictured here! The drums are 3 inches across each and they make about 3/4 oz. batts of roving.

The booklet is 19 pages long and is meant to be printed out and used in booklet form. There are actual pattern pieces that you need to cut out and templates as well.


My husband and I came up with this design and it is a durable little drum carder once finished... Ours took 3 days total to make but we had no instructions so figuring everything out took the longest.

I want to give a rundown of the major tools we used to create this just so you have an idea of what you will need...
*Power drill & drill bits or drill press
*Jig saw, scroll saw or band saw
*Wood clamp(s) at least 1 but 2 makes the project faster!
*Hammer
*sand paper or sander
*2 punches
*ruler
*pencil
*scissors

This is only the tool list; you will also need a few basic materials found at your local craft store & hardware store. The total, not including the cost of any tools you need for the project, is about $40 to actually make your own drum carder.
