Alright Gals, Valentine's Day is fast approaching and ya know what that means?! Time for a present for YOU GIRL! Make yourself a pair of simple DIY cloth panties and you can begin right here with my FREE CROCHET PANTY PATTERN.
The basic thong / G string panty that I have been working on designing for the last few months I feel is a pretty straight forward no nonsense cheeky thong panty that, depending on your skill set, you can absolutely embellish to your hearts content! Plus in the free pattern I am including some really sweet and quick crochet add-ons that you can stitch onto your undies to make them perfect for you!
Okay so here it is... I have never written a crochet pattern for the public Ladies and Gents so this ones a freebie and please forgive me if i'm not fully perfecto in the crochet lingo. Lol... Here's the free crochet pattern:
Thong / G String Crochet Pattern A HuggableEarth Crochet Pattern
I am Using 100% Cotton Lily Peaches and Cream yarn and a size 6.0mm hook.
Row 1: Ch 3 to start off, [dc 2, ch 3,dc 2, ch 3, dc 2, ch 3] all in 1st st of the [Ch 3 st], sl st to join at the top of the first dc( ch3).
Row 2: sl st into nx st, sc around nx st, ch 2, dc 2, ch 3, dc 3(all in ch 3 sp), ch 1, (dc 3, ch 3, dc 3, in ch 3 sp, then ch 1), repeat once. Sl st to join.
Row 3: Sl st in nx st, sc in ch 3 sp, ch 2, dc 2, ch 3, dc 3, ch 1, (dc 3, ch 1, dc 3, ch 3, dc 3, ch 1) * repeat 1 time. 3 dc in nx ch3 sp, ch 1, sl st to join.(Tie off if you are changing colors here) This is A great place to Change color if desired. What you have achieved so far is a granny triangle. At any point you can begin weaving tails into the panty with a smaller size hook, I like a size 3mm for this job :) Row 4: sl st in 1st 2 sts, sc in ch3 sp, ch 2, dc 2, dc 3 in ea ch 1 sp (3 sets of 3 dc), ch 1, sc into ea side st along the panty, when you get to the ‘crotch’, sc into the 1st st, sc around the nx ch st, ch 3, sl st into the 1st ch of the 3, sc around the ch st, sc into the final st in that (ch3) sp, sc up the other side, to the very top st of the 1st dc.
Row 5: ch 1, now tightly single crochet 16 across the top of this row. TURN.
Row 6: Ch 1, sc 16, Then ch 32 for size sm/md, 42 for lg, 52 for xl. Now you have one side tie (FRONT) done. Sl st and sc into the opposite side (FRONT) of the triangle(thong panty) , and then you are going to ch the same # for the other side, I used 42, so I ch 42 and tie off at 4" and weave in my end.
Now, For your thong part that goes up the back of the panty. First we want to start with a chain of 40(side tie BACK), at the 40th st, sl st into the nx to the last st, now ch(25-sm/md, 30-lg, 35-xl, adjust to your desired size) for the thong.
Get your panty and stitch the thong string into the the crotch area of the panty, right at the v shaped tip, sl st to join, crochet 2sc sts to attach, Turn, sl st into each one of the (ch25,30, or 35), once we get back to the T, we are simply going to continue and add that 40 ch sts(side tie BACK).
Your panty is complete. You may add ties to the sides of the panties if you'd like!
Here are a couple of simple versions I came up with <3
*For Heart Ties: sl st into 2nd st from the hook, hdc, 2dc, hdc, sc, ch 3, sc, hdc, 2 dc, hdc, sl st into sl st. finished. Tie off.
**For circle ties, after making your tie chain, insert hook into 2nd st from hook, sc 6, sl st to join and make a full circle. Next Add the yarn over to the other corner for the other tie, ch 32 for sm, 42 for md, 52 for lg. Make circles, hearts or leave ties as is.
